Blaugrana fans wouldn’t have liked the sight of this player in a Blancos jersey.

El Confidencial have dropped a recent transfer claim ahead of deadline day that would have caused a stir in the summer window had it gone through.

According to the Spanish news outlet, former Barca ace Cesc Fabregas was offered to Real Madrid, a move which would have enraged his former employers and childhood club.

The report states that newly-appointed boss Antonio Conte is not a fan of the Furia Roja playmaker and is keen on getting rid of the ex-Arsenal captain before the transfer window shuts close.

With deadline day scheduled on Wednesday, the Blues reportedly took drastic measures in order to cash in on the 29-year-old. Unfortunately for Conte, Los Blancos were not interested and immediately turned down the offer.

Despite Cesc openly admitting that he is staying at Stamford Bridge, rumors continue to circle regarding a second English Premier League exit for the Spaniard.

Having been left on the bench for the recent pre-international break 3-0 win over Burnley, Fabregas finds himself in a limbo where he is no longer wanted by Chelsea yet can’t find suitable suitors.

To add insult to injury, Gazzetta dello Sport (as per Football Italia) claim that Inter Milan have rejected a Fabregas-plus-cash swap for Marcelo Brozovic.
