Bayer Leverkusen will not have two of its main weapons ready for the beginning of the 2016-2017 season, as the club revealed Javier "Chicharito" Hernández suffered a domestic incident that will keep him away from the pitch for the next couple of weeks.
The team's Twitter feed reported that Hernández broke his hand at his house, but the club's medical staff reacted quickly to prevent further damage. The Mexican ace will miss Die Werkself's debut against Borussia Mönchengladbach, and will most likely be away from Mexico's upcoming games against El Salvador and Honduras.
Ah we've got some unfortunate news @CH14_ fell and broke his hand yesterday and will miss the next 2 weeks.

Get well soon, Chicha!
"Chicharito's" absence will leave Kevin Volland as the only fit striker for Bayer Leverkusen, since Stefan Kiessling is also recovering from an injury. However, the team will benefit from Julian Brandt's return after winning the Silver Medal for Germany in the Olympic Football tournament.
