Juventus and AS Roma will battle for more points in the Italian Serie A this weekend. Roma are behind Juve and their sole desire is to triumph come Saturday.
AS Roma are going through revival, having clinched 13 points out of a possible 15 in their last 5 league matches. However, the Giallorossi’s current form and results came under a threat against Fiorentina earlier on Wednesday.

But they did just enough to beat their counterparts 3-2 in the end. AS Roma play maker, Francesco Totti, underlined the importance of his side’s latest victory as he looks forward to the big match against Juventus on Saturday.

“This victory [against Fiorentina] allows us to take a step forward in the Italian Serie A and to get closer to higher positions in the table,” Totti told Italian magazine Il Corriere dello Sport.

“However, we shouldn’t get carried away by the recent success. Now, we are thinking about the match against Juventus. It’s a fundamental game in our campaign.”

Like Francesco Totti, AS Roma coach Claudio Ranieri gave his comments ahead of the Juventus vs AS Roma derby in the Italian Serie A. Although Saturday’s hosts haven’t been playing convincingly for some time now and although they are struggling on the injury front, the Giallorossi manager believes that this weekend match will be tough.

“We’ll be facing a massive obstacle, a great team, a strong side, a great club,” Ranieri emphatically declared to the media.

“However, we will do everything in our power to beat them. This is our aim and we’ve got to make it happen. But in football, exams never end.

“There’s always another and another which makes football beautiful. [Juventus] are ahead of us, so our job is to do what we can to bypass them.

“I want to win, whether it’s Juventus or other teams. I just have the will to win.”

Both Juventus and AS Roma stand a chance of breaking into Italy’s Serie A top four on Saturday night.
