August 14, 2016 By Andrew Amoth Wandola
Henrikh Mkhitaryan's name has been scribbled in the books of history in the Premier League.

Manchester United new signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan has set history in the Premier League. The former Borussia Dortmund attacking midfielder came on as a substitute to replace Juan Mata in the 75th minute as the Red Devils walloped AFC Bournemouth 3-1 at the Vitality stadium on Sunday.

Mkhitaryan is now the first Armenian to play in the Premier League. A total of 112 different national have been represented in the Premier League since its inception in 1992. Check out his post on Twitter confirming his historic achievement:

Goals from Juan Mata, Wayne Rooney and Zlatan Ibrahimovic were enough to give the Red Devils an easy win over the Cherries on their first match of the 2016/17 league season under new boss Jose Mourinho. The Red Devils temporarily took control of the league table moments after the hard-fought victory with three points and a superior goal difference. They play Southampton in their next Premier League fixture on Friday.
