Team news

West Ham

Last season, West Ham reached a number of milestones. Under the guidance of Croatian tactician Slaven Bilić, the Hammers not just finished seventh in the Premier League, but also scored 65 goals, which is the most ever accumulated during the course of a campaign.

The hosts will be coming into this game full of confidence. After losing the first leg of their Europa League third qualifying round 2-1, West Ham rebounded in style by crushing Slovenian outfit NK Domžale 3-0 to to deservedly book their spot in the play-offs. And although this is just a friendly, they will be looking to make it a second straight win in their new stadium, especially after not having the best pre-season so far.

In fact, West Ham have only won one out of their pre-season fixtures, and given that they will face Chelsea in their season opener, Bilić will be hoping to see his men further improve on their solid performance during the tie with NK Domžale. Hammers supporters will be looking forward to the return of Dimitri Payet, who is back in training after his exploits at Euro 2016 with France, whilst they can look forward to seeing new acquisitions Sofiane Feghouli and Gokhan Tore in action as well.

Juventus

Bianconeri fans could also see some new faces on the pitch for their side. So far, Juventus have spent their time over in Australia, where they lost their opener to Melbourne Victory but managed to edge out Tottenham, with new players Mehdi Benatia and Miralem Pjanic taking part. However, two additional signings - Dani Alves and Gonzalo Higuain - could play their first matches in a Bianconeri kit this weekend.

Whilst Alves arrived from Barcelona on a free transfer, Higuain became the third-most expensive signing of all time - and the most expensive in Serie A - after making his €90 million move from Napoli to Juventus this past month. Big money moves are the norm in La Liga and to some extent, in the Premier League, but so far this summer, the Bianconeri have spent well over €150 million - an unprecedented amount for Serie A sides. However, after winning five straight Scudetti, the league title is a virtual guarantee, and Juventus are clearly aiming to make a huge impact in the Champions League this season.

This will be the final "official" friendly for Juve; after this game, Massimiliano Allegri's men take on the Primavera side before starting their domestic campaign with a tricky clash against Fiorentina.
