Jack Wilshere injured for Friday’s friendly

It’s odd: the season hasn’t even begun, yet Arsenal are already worried over the fitness of Jack Wilshere. The English midfielder, having missed the majority of last season, is suffering from yet another injury and is thus likely to sit out Friday’s game.

Wenger is uncertain whether to use the 25-year-old, as the Three Lions ace has a kneecap issue to attend to. Question marks remain over whether Wilshere can feature in their last friendly before the new season – a clash with Manchester City.

Young striker Chuba Akpom is expected to feature in the starting eleven, having scored in both of the Gunners’ USA wins. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain looks set to continue in the squad after scoring two beautiful goals in their last three friendlies.
