Inter Milan
If reports are to be believed, Inter boss Roberto Mancini is already on his way out. As such, Saturday's game could be the last for the Italian tactician, who has been at odds with the club's executive board concerning transfers and the organization's overall direction. Names like Leonardo, who managed AC Milan during the 2009/2010 season and then Inter the following term, and Dutch manager Frank De Boer are among those being considered to be the next coach for the Nerazzurri.
In terms of personnel, the Nerazzurri haven't exactly been the busiest during this summer's transfer window. The only players of note that have come in is Sevilla's Ever Banega, who arrived on a free from the Europa League champions, and they paid €5 million to sign Croatian international Marcelo Brozovic permanently from Dinamo Zagreb following his loan spell. For this game, Mauro Icardi, who has been linked with a move away from the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, will be out due to a reported shoulder problem, but other from that, there should be no other absences of note.
Inter will be coming into this game off a frustrating 1-1 stalemate against South American side Estudiantes, but it was a slight improvement following their 3-1 drubbing by PSG and Mancini - whether he's with the team at the start of the season or not - will naturally hope to see a better showing against the German champions.
Bayern Munich
As for Bayern Munich, die Roten ended up drawing on the night, but were unfortunate to lose on spot-kicks after an entertaining game that finished as 3-3 during regular time. Despite missing stars like Thomas Muller, Mats Hummels, Manuel Neuer, and Robert Lewandowski, Carlo Ancelotti's side still have plenty of top-notch quality within their ranks.
They ended up losing Arjen Robben to yet another injury earlier this summer, but Franck Ribery, Xabi Alonso, Philipp Lahm, David Alaba, and Javi Martinez were among those who featured earlier this week against the Rossoneri, and Chilean star Arturo Vidal was also included in the club's USA tour.
Next up for Bayern will be a clash with Real Madrid to wrap up their ICC campaign before taking on Borussia Dortmund in the German Super Cup on August 14th.
