The Argentine tactician has been named by experts as Gerardo Martino's successor with La Albiceleste, but he still has other plans.

Argentinean fans will have to wait a while to watch Diego Simeone coaching their National Team, as Atlético's tactician has no intention to leave the Spanish capital...for now.

Simeone, who seemeed to be ready to take on a new challenge after losing his second UEFA Champions League final with Los Colchoneros, played down all those rumors linking him with La Albiceleste, since he is still under contract with Atlético and he couldn't possibly think of coaching both teams.

"Nobody has ever managed a club and the Argentina national team. But in the future it will be a definite possibility. Lots of coaches would like to do it but they can’t because of their contracts with their clubs. It is viable? It will be in time," Simeone said.

"El Cholo", during a UEFA Champions League match with Atlético last season.

In fact, most rumors about his departure from Los Colchoneros were fueled by him, since he felt utterly disappointed after losing the second UCL final against Real Madrid in three years. Simeone decided to explain what went through his mind and how some might have thought he was ready to leave.

"I never talked along the lines of leaving Atlético, I never had that sensation. It’s very hard to explain what I felt after that final. For me it was like a bereavement and I needed to pick a fight. And I did that where I needed to. Now I’m ready for what comes next," the coach explained.

Even if he has pledged his loyalty to Atlético, Simeone revealed that he knows nothing lasts forever, and he hinted where he would like to coach next.

"It’s obvious I’m a young coach and football will lead me to new challenges, new goals and I’m keen on both the Premier League and Serie A,” the Argentine concluded.
