The Argentinean striker and his brother/agent were harshly criticized by the Partenopei president yesterday, since he felt they 'betrayed' Napoli's supporters.

Gonzalo Higuain wasted no time and shared with the press why he chose to join Juventus, in what was considered by Napoli's president as a "betrayal".

During his first press conference after joining La Vecchia Signora, Higuaín blamed the Partenopei president from his departure, even if it wasn't what he wanted to do in the first place.

"My relationship with him(De Laurentiis) was never good because his way of thinking was not like mine. My choice was also influenced because he pushed me to make it. The problem was the relationship with him. I didn't want to spend another minute with De Laurentiis," Higuaín stated.

The Argentinean striker even understands why Napoli fans were left broken-hearted by his choice, and even sent them and their president one more message.

“I stayed silent, now I can express myself. At Napoli I had three good years, I can see why they're angry. I am grateful to my fans and team mates. I am not grateful to De Laurentiis," "Pipita" added.

The player even pressed his first Juventus jersey before he was unveiled.

The player kept on going about why he chose to join Juventus, hinting that having a lot of options in every position will be key to achieve success.

"The ambition shown over the summer was an important factor for me. Combined with the desire of the players already here, this was an offer I could not refuse. The depth of this squad is one of its greatest strengths and the competition for places all over the field is a massive advantage for us,"Higuain concluded.

The record holder for most goals in a single Serie A season will join Juventus for the next five years.

Here's an example of just how excited the bianconeri supporters are with his arrival.
