The German attacker will move to the Signal Iduna Park on a five-year deal.

Borussia Dortmund continue on the path to rebuilding their squad after losing several players over the summer, as the German giants announced the signing of Andre Schurrle from Wolfsburg.

Schurrle, who moved to the Volkswagen Arena only 18 months ago, has now left for the Signal Iduna Park, putting pen to paper on a five-year deal with Thomas Tuchel’s crew.

The 25-year-old former Chelsea ace is the eighth player signed by Die Schwarzgelben in the current transfer window, and his deal comes only a day after the club re-signed Mario Gotze from bitter rivals Bayern Munich.

As per BVB’s official website, Schurrle said: "Borussia Dortmund are one of the top European clubs with a strong and extremely exciting squad. From my own experience I know how much power BVB can develop with their fans and I am already looking forward to witness it not as wide-eyed opponent but as a part of it.

"I want to achieve great things with Borussia in the years to come and can't wait to start training and convince the people it was a good move to sign me."

With a total of 13 goals and 10 assists in his 80 appearances for Die Wölfe, BVB had to fork out €30 million for the World Cup winner
