Team news

Juventus

Juventus will be coming into this game without a whole slew of key players. Gianluigi Buffon, Leonardo Bonucci, Giorgio Chiellini, Sami Khedira, Andrea Barzagli, and Mario Mandzukic are among those who will not feature due to participating in Euro 2016, and Claudio Marchisio is still out due to injury. However, the team's top goal-scorer last season, Paulo Dybala, was included in Massimiliano Allegri's 25-man traveling party after not featuring for Argentina during the Copa America.

Like many of Europe's big teams, Juventus have been pretty active in this summer's transfer market. So far, the Bianconeri have brought in Miralem Pjanić from Roma, Barcelona star Dani Alves as well as Mehdi Benatia on loan from Bayern Munich. And with one eye on the future, they have also opted to spend on promising youngsters, namely the €23 million splashed on 21-year-old Croatian international Marjo Pjaca.

Melbourne Victory

The "hosts", who are currently managed by Kevin Muscat, finished in sixth place in the A-league last term. Prior to that, they held off the competition to clinch their third domestic title during the 2014/2015 campaign. Like Juventus, the Blues will be beginning their own pre-season preparations, and have some new signings eager to make their debut this weekend.

Alan Baro, Mitch Austin, and James Donachie are among those who have joined Melbourne Victory this summer and will be hoping to make an impact in the team's first ever ICC tournament appearance on Saturday.
