The Mexican striker had a tough summer with El Tri, being eliminated by Chile in the Copa América Centenario with a baffling 7-0 score.

His performances with El Tri this summer may not have been as shining as expected, but that didn't matter to Bayer Leverkusen's supporters.

Mexican striker Javier "Chicharito" Hernández returned to the team's training sessions after his disappointing stint with El Tri. Hernández was expected to lead the green-and-white side to Copa América Centenario glory, but the team was thumped out of the competition by Chile, who handed them a historic 7-0 defeat.

Bayer Leverkusen's social media accounts celebrated Chicharito's comeback by posting a video on their Twitter feed.

Die Werkself tried to keep a small rubber ball from touching the ground, but Hernandez struggled to do so despite his efforts.

Considering that he was the team's top striker last season with 26 goals in all competitions, Chicharito's fans reacted to his comeback with some hilarious tweets. Here are some of them.
