Jose doesn't think Cristiano is one of the best

Man Utd boss Jose Mourinho picks his top three all-time best players

July 19, 2016 By Ali M.
But surprisingly, Cristiano Ronaldo was not one of them.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho recently revealed the three players whom he believes to be the best of all-time.

Surprisingly, though, the Special One left decided to omit fellow Portuguese ace and the UEFA Euro 2016-winning captain Cristiano Ronaldo.

Instead, the former Chelsea boss opted for three South American legends. As written by The Express, he said: "For me the top three players in history are Messi, Pele and Maradona."

A heated relationship between the former Man United winger and Mourinho was well-documented; regardless, the 31-year-old enjoyed tremendous success under the Special One.

One of his two most recent Ballon d’Or wins came whilst under the tutelage of Jose, but Cristiano instead loses out to rival Lionel Messi – Pele and Maradona were a no-brainer.

The Argentine superstar has more titles under his belt than his Portuguese counterpart, despite being over 2 years’ younger. However, whilst La Pulga endured heartbreak at a major final with his national side in 2016, Ronaldo lifted the European Championship after a roller-coaster campaign.

Mourinho will soon be in China, where the Red Devils are set to embark on their pre-season tour prior to the 2016/17 English Premier League season's kick-off.
