Newly signed Barcelona full-back Lucas Digne opens up on his move to the Catalan giants.

The Frenchman left Paris Saint-Germain to join Messi and Co. on a five-year deal worth €16.5 million. The 22-year-old became Barcelona's second summer signing following the completed move of Villarreal's Denis Suarez.

In a recent interview with Goal.com, the former Roma defender talked about his dream move to Camp Nou.

"Going to Barça is like a dream come true. When I was a kid, I told my father 'one day I'll play at the Camp Nou and wear the Barça shirt'.

"He told me to keep calm but when the transfer was finalised I immediately called him to tell him that my dream had come true."

Digne revealed he never felt like an important player at Parc des Princes and was keen on a move away from the French team. The player joined AS Roma on loan last season and made 33 appearances, netting three goals in the process.

"After a great year in Rome, I thought it was the perfect time to take another step in my career.

"In my two seasons with PSG I never felt good.

"A year ago I decided to tell them that I wanted to leave the club. They said they wanted to sign another left-back before letting me leave, and they respected that promise before I left for Roma where I enjoyed my time and learned a lot, especially in defensive tactics with one of the best teams in Italy.

"I didn't feel well at PSG and this can happen. Sometimes you don't fit and choose to go elsewhere.

"PSG contacted me during the [2015/16] season, and I told them that the club wasn't right for me and didn't want to return after playing for Roma.

"Now I'm in Barcelona, which makes me feel incredibly happy with the choice I made."
