According to Sky Sports, Liverpool are close to completing a deal with Augsburg's Ragnar Klavan.

The centre-back's price tag is understood to be £4.2 million plus add-ons

Klavan has made 108 caps with his national team and has played over 30 league games in each of his last four seasons with the German side.

The defender completed a move to the Bundesliga in 2012 after seven successful seasons in Netherland's top-flight league with Heracles Almelo and AZ Alkmaar. With his 2009 switch to AZ Alkmaar, the Estonia captain played a key role in the defense, helping AZ on a club-record 28-game unbeaten run.

If the deal does go through, it will become Jurgen Klopp's fourth summer signing following the acquisition of Southampton's Sadio Mane, Schalke 04's midfielder Joel Matip and German shot-stopper Loris Karius.
