The defender had a difficult season at Old Trafford due to injuries.

Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo could join La Liga outfit Villarreal on loan, according The Daily Mail. This comes barely a month after the Old Trafford outfit secured the services of Villarreal defender Eric Bailly.

The Ivory Coast international was the first signing for Jose Mourinho at Man United. The latest reports in England now suggest that Rojo could be loaned out to the La Liga side for at least a season.

Rojo suffered an injury-stricken season at Manchester in 2015/16, but thanks to the recovery of Luke Shaw, who broke his leg in their Champions League clash against PSV Eindhoven last September, the Argentine (pictured below) could be forced to seek more play-time in La Liga next season. The England international impressed coach Jose Mourinho on Saturday during the club friendly against Wigan Athletic and will most likely get a lot of play time next season after missing out for the better past of the just-concluded season due to injury.Marcos Rojo injury

Rojo was signed by ex-Man United boss Louis Van Gaal in 2014 from Sporting Lisbon for 16 million pounds on a five-year-deal. He however managed to make only 15 Premier League appearances for the Red Devils last season following a series of injuries.
