The UEFA Euro 2016 champion is being sought out by three top-caliber clubs. Where will he end up playing next season?

One of last season's top performers has garnered the attention of top European clubs, and if you add a UEFA Euro 2016 title to his resume, the signing of midfielder Andre Gomes will steal most of the headlines this summer.

The talented holding midfielder was one of Barcelona's targets before the continental tournament took place. His price tag increased once Real Madrid and Manchester United joined the race to sign him, leaving los Blaugranas with minimal options to sign the former Valencia player...unless they sell another footballer to make way for Gomes.

The team that seems to have the best chances of landing a deal with Gomes is Real Madrid, given that coach Zinedine Zidane wants to add depth to that position, and the player seems keen on partnering up with Cristiano Ronaldo and Pepe. Furthermore, Los Blancos have no financial problems, and would be ready to splash cash now before a pending FIFA transfer ban is in full effect.

The other team hoping to sign the European champion is Manchester United. While Mourinho & Co. have reportedly set the signing of Paul Pogba as a top priority, there seems to be no clear indication from Juventus or the player to be willing to move. If that transfer flops, then Gomes would be the suitable alternative. Manchester United will have to decide soon if they want to make a move to sign the Portuguese...
