New Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte is looking to spark up his squad before the season begins, and the former Italy manager has his eyes set on Napoli centre-half Kalidou Koulibaly.

According to Sportitalia, the English club is closing in on a £34 million deal with the Senegalese international. The offer includes a £31.5 million initial payment to the Ciucciarelli with £2.5 million in bonuses.Chelsea-Koublibaly

It seems like the third time will be the charm to bring the former Racing Genk footballer to Stamford Bridge. The Blues reportedly offered a £19 million bid but was denied by Napoli last month. Then, the London-based club upped their game with a 30 million deal, but the Serie A giants also turned down the offer. However, this time around it looks like both clubs have reached an agreement for the defender.

Koulibaly caught the attention of Chelsea with his impressive performances for his Italian side. The 25-year-old made 33 appearances for Napoli in the 2015/2016 campaign, and he proved to be a key player, as his team only conceded 32 goals in 38 matches.
