The Ghanaian midfielder was unable to complete the club’s first session of the preseason.

On Thursday, Spanish giants Atletico Madrid kick started their preseason with the first training session since club football ended with their Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid.

With UEFA Euro 2016 ongoing, and the final between France and Germany yet to be played, only 23 players reported, as Diego Simeone and Oscar Ortega put the players through their pace.

Summer signings Santos Borre and Diogo Jota were all at hand, but the session was not the perfect beginning to life with Los Rojiblancos for Bernard Mensah.

The Ghanaian midfielder, who was signed by the Vicente Calderon side before being loaned to Getafe last season, returned back to Atletico, but was unable to complete the Thursday sessions after puking on the pitch.
