The Serie A side confirmed that they'll be looking into taking legal action against the Argentine tactician.

Marcelo Bielsa has made a shocking decision and has quit as Lazio boss, despite having only signed on as first-team manager on Wednesday as the successor to Stefano Pioli.

The Argentine tactician, famous for his attacking style of football, stayed on as Biancocelesti tactician for only two days before ending his contract, a move which left the Serie A side furious.

In an official statement, the Italian club hint that they may take legal action against the former Marseille boss, writing in their official account:

"We are shocked to learn of the resignation of Mr Marcelo Bielsa, also in the name of his assistants, which is in blatant violation of the commitment he assumed with the contracts signed last week and registered with the Lega Serie A and FIGC [Italian Football Federation],"

The club also added: "The club reserves the right to take all the necessary action to protect its own rights. The team has been placed into the hands of Simone Inzaghi for the preseason training camp."

Lazio solicitor Gian Michele Gentile confirmed to Italian news outlet Corriere dello Sport that the club have already began the process of suing the Argentine tactician, saying:

"I've just heard of the news that Bielsa is not coming. Clearly this is a breach of contract on the part of the Rosario-born coach. Lazio will respond with legal action inevitably.

So why is it exactly did Bielsa quit after only two days? Similarly, two days ago, La Albiceleste witnessed the resignation of Gerardo Martino as the national team boss, leaving a vacancy at the helm of the two-time World Cup winners.
