Thomas Muller is yet to score a goal at the Euro 2016, but he is not worried about it.

''A goal would make me calmer...I wouldn't have to listen to your questions.''

That is what Germany and Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller had to say about his goal drought in the European Championship in France. Muller is yet to find a goal in this tournament after emerging the top scorer in the FIFA World Cup in South Africa six years ago when he scored five goals for Die Mannschaft. Despite having had an impressive run in the Bundesliga last season when he scored 20 goals for the Bavarians, Muller is having a difficult time in France trying to find the back of the net.

The 26-year-old could start today against Didier Deschamps’ men in the semi-finals of the tournament as Mario Gomez’s replacement. The latter picked up a hamstring injury that has since ruled him out of the competition, having scored two goals in the four matches played for his country in France.

Muller seems quite unlucky when it comes to the European Championships. He also failed to find the back of the net in Euro 2012 when Spain emerged champions, and will be hoping to break the jinx this evening against Les Bleus. But as his fans continue to worry about his goal drought, Muller does not lose sleep over it. He said this during a recent interview ahead of the semi-final clash:

''Goals are not my petrol, they are not what keeps me going,

''My petrol is the desire to win things with my team. If I score goals, that's just a nice coat of paint on the car,

''At the World Cup in 2010, I won the golden boot, but we lost in the semi-final. Four years later, I came second in the scoring charts and we won the World Cup. Which do you think felt better?''
