Dimitri Payet could be on his way out of West Ham United this summer.

After insisting countless times that Dimitri Payet is not on sale, West Ham chief believes the French star could be on his way out of the club. Gold revealed that the 29-year-old freekick wizard could join either Barcelona or Real Madrid if the two La Liga giants come knocking for his services.

The two clubs are said to be interested in signing the former Lille man, with Real Madrid willing to break the bank to have him at the Santiago Bernabeu after the ongoing Euro 2016. Payet has been in sensational form for Les Bleus so far at the tournament, with some fans linking him with the Player of the Tournament award. He has scored three goals in five matches and provided one assist for Didier Deschamps men in the competition.

Speaking to The Sun, regarding the player’s next move, Gold said:

“We’ll fight tooth and nail to make sure Dimitri pulls on a claret and blue shirt next season.

“We want to improve our squad and Dimitri is an integral part of what we’re trying to do. But we also must be realistic. If Barcelona or Real Madrid made a bid and he wanted to move there, it would be difficult to keep him."
