The German striker hasn't been able to send the ball into the back of the net for Die Mannschaft in the continental competition, with Buffon denying him even a penalty shootout goal.

Thomas Müller certainly will not remember his performance in the UEFA Euro 2016 fondly, as the striker hasn't been able to end his goal scoring hoodoo in the tournament.

Bayern Munich's ace wasn't able to make his presence felt in today's game against Italy, and when he had the chance to score his first UEFA Euro goal, Gianluigi Buffon denied him with a brilliant save. Müller has played ten UEFA Euro games so far, failing to score a single goal up to this point.

Müller became the first German player to have a penalty kick denied since 1982. The last player to miss a spot kick in a shootout was Uli Stieleke. Although it wouldn't even matter, since the German crew would still make it through to the semi-finals.

Of course, fans made fun of Müller's poor effort in front of goal.
