France star Antoine Griezmann performed brilliantly for his side in their last 16 match against the Republic of Ireland.

The Atletico Madrid forward scored a brace to lead his side to the quarter-finals of UEFA Euro 2016. Thanks to Griezmann, Les Bleus managed to come out victorious with a 2-1 win.

Griezmann's brace has joined him with Alvaro Morata and Gareth Bale as one of Euro 2016's joint-top goalscorers, having scored a total of three times.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, the 25-year-old striker said:

"I know my body, I know my mind and I know that in the big moments I'll be there.

"I am very happy to have scored two goals.

"We discussed some things in the dressing room at half-time. It is true that we struggled to get into our game and we will have to improve this, but the key is that we qualified."

Following their qualification, France will face either England or Iceland in the quarter-final match at the Stade de France and Griezmann is looking forward to a couple days of rest before their fixture on July 3rd.

"We will certainly savour this and go and enjoy at Clairefontaine [The French team base]."
