Wales emerged top of Group B and are set to face Northern Ireland. Had they emerged the runner-up, they would have faced high-flying debutants Iceland. Northern Ireland on the other hand qualified for the knockout stage as best third-placed finishers of Group C. Had they won the group, they would have been at risk of facing either Slovakia or Portugal.

When and where to watch Hungary vs Belgium

Hungary qualified as surprise Group F leaders to book a date with giants Belgium. Had they finished second, they would have booked a date with England. Belgium finished behind Italy in the Group of death (E). This was a better achievement than finishing as group winners where they would have faced European champions Spain.

Who will qualify for this UEFA Euro 2016 quarter-final fixture scheduled for July 1?

Wales vs Northern Ireland: Wales have played N. Ireland eight times and have lost only once on those occasions. Out of the eight meetings, they have won thrice, drawn four times, and lost once. Based on the Dragons’ performance in this competition, they could cruise to an easy win over Northern Ireland.

Hungary vs Belgium: Belgium managed to secure a second-spot finish in the group of the death that had the likes of Italy and Sweden, therefore, cruising past Hungary may not be much of a problem. These two countries have played each other five times in their history with the Red Devils winning four times and drawing once.

The winner of Wales vs Northern Ireland will face the winner of Hungary vs Belgium. The four quarter-final match-ups could be Wales vs Hungary, Wales vs Belgium, Northern Ireland vs Hungary or Northern Ireland vs Belgium.

July 1, 2016 UEFA Euro quarter-final fixture prediction

Wales will most likely face Belgium in the quarter-final to be played on the aforementioned date. Chris Coleman’s men have been having a wonderful run so far having cruised past Slovakia and Russia, and the last thing they would wish for is to be kicked out of the competition by the Northerners. By virtue of being the second-best national football team in the world, expect Belgium to beat Hungary.
