Real Madrid have confirmed resigning their former star Alvaro Morata.

Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid have activated their back-back clause on Alvaro Morata’s contract with Juventus. The Spaniard is currently one of the leading top scorers at Euro 2016, having scored the opening goal in Spain’s match against Croatia. He now has three goals in the competition, same with his Real Madrid teammate Gareth Bale.

Los Blancos released an official statement on their website to announce their decision to recall the lethal forward back to the Santiago Bernabeu.

It read:

''Real Madrid C. F. have informed Juventus FC of their decision to salvage the federative rights on the player Álvaro Morata, who will join up with the first team for pre-season training under the command of Zinedine Zidane.’’

The 23-year-old played for the Madrid giants between 2010 and 2014, and scored 10 league goals in 37 appearances. He was then released to join Serie A giants Juventus where he scored 15 goals in 63 appearances in two seasons. He has been a top transfer target for several Premier League giants such as Arsenal and Chelsea thanks to his recent string of good performances that made him replace the likes of Diego Costa and Fernando Torres in Spain’s attack for the Euros.
