The latest transfer news from France indicates that Dimitri Payet could be on his way out of West Ham.

Premier League giants Chelsea and their La Liga counterparts Real Madrid are reportedly willing to sign West Ham sensation Dimitri Payet, according to The Daily Mirror. The France midfielder has become a household name at the ongoing Euro 2016 thanks to his sterling performance for Les Bleus.

He has so far scored two goals in three appearances for Didier Deschamps men in the competition and is one of the favorites to win the Player of the Tournament award. The 29-year-old is well-known for his pin-point free-kicks, pace, and ability to curl the ball behind defenders.Payet scores a freekick in a previous league matchThe Frenchman joined The Hammers in 2015 from Ligue 1 side Marseille and scored five league goals in 22 appearances for the Premier League side in the just-concluded season. He was also named West Ham United Player of the Year.

Although the East London club has insisted that their star player is not for sale, they may be tempted to change their stand if they receive a lucrative offer particularly from Los Blancos who have a reputation for breaking the bank for their transfer targets. Coach Zinedine Zidane is also said to be a big fan Payet and may be tempted to sign him to replace the hot and cold James Rodriguez, who has been  a long-time transfer target for Manchester United. Payet celebrates his goal for France at Euro 2016Earlier last week, Payet's agent Mark McKay claimed that it would require 'ridiculous money' to lure him out of the Olympic Stadium but also admitted that a transfer was possible. He said:

“He's doing great now for France and to get him now, you've got to be talking ridiculous money. But football is football, so you never know. When he first came last year, we hoped for the best with him.

“We knew that he was a really good player, but I don't think anyone could really expect what he has gone on to do in the Premier League so far.

“The game against Romania the other night was a joy to watch.”
