The Welsh superstar replied to Jack Wilshere's comments about the Three Lions being more talented than the Bale & Co.

Thursday's clash between England and Wales has raised expectation since the draw paired both United Kingdom countries in Group B. But following Jack Wilshere's comments about the English squad being more talented than their Welsh counterparts, Gareth Bale stepped up and defended their ground.

In a press conference held earlier today, Bale referred to Wilshere's words with disdain. In fact, Real Madrid's wingman revealed that no English player could be included in the current Welsh squad.

"None, we know we have a good team and we know we can beat them on our day. England are a bigger nation and have a lot more players to choose from but I think we have closed the gap massively,"Bale confidently stated.

Bale kicked off Wales' celebrations after beating Slovakia last Saturday.

The Welsh star, who scored his nation's first goal of the tournament, hinted that his team-mates have shown more hunger and passion than their English counterparts, giving them an edge over the Three Lions ahead of Thursday's matchup.

"In my opinion we have more. I feel we have a massive team spirit - probably the best I have seen in teams. We are just concentrating on ourselves, nothing is fazing us, we are just going to go out there and enjoy the occasion," Bale added.

Wales leads Group B of the UEFA Euro 2016 after one match. A win against the English crew would increase their chances of progression while handing a serious blow to England's chances.

The Welsh team hasn't been able to win a match against England for the past 32 years.
