Los Cafeteros and Los Ticos will clash in their last group stage game, with Jose Pekerman's crew already through to the next round.

The group stage of Copa America Centenario nears its end, as the last round of fixtures will be played. Ahead of the 2nd round stage of the tournament, Colombia will lock horns with Costa Rica in the last Group A tie.

One side can rest assured knowing that qualification is already in their pocket, as the 2-1 win over Paraguay earned James Rodriguez and Co. their ticket to the next round. Costa Rica, on the other hand, are all but destined to exit after the final whistle comes down on the Reliant Stadium tie in Houston, Texas.

Team news – who’s fit and who’s not?

Luckily for Colombia, captain James Rodriguez has fully recovered and appears destined to start, despite scoring and assisting in a game which man tipped him to miss. The Real Madrid ace could lead Los Cafeteros in their last group stage clash, having already booked their spot in the next round.

Marlos, Dayro, Roger, Mina, Fabra and Sanchez of Jose Pekerman’s crew could play a role in the Costa Rica game, as there is not much on the line for the South American outfit.

Kendall Waston of Costa Rica has served his suspension and could be set for a return to the starting eleven. Marco Urena and Cristian Gamboa, however, will both miss out through injury, whilst Christian Bolanos and Oscar Duarte are facing a race against time to be fit.

Head to head

One could be forgiven for backing Colombia to win, given their form – they’re not FIFA’s third best ranked nation for nothing. However, with qualification secured, Pekerman could rest his key players and hand Costa Rica hope of triumphing on Saturday.

However, the numbers don’t favor a win for Oscar Ramirez’s side. Costa Rica’s last five clashes with Colombia have all ended in defeat, a run of losses which dates back to 1946. Los Cafeteros have met Los Ticos three times in Copa America, and have come out victorious on all occasions.

That tally of three wins is the most Colombia boasts against a single nation, having conceded only once along the way.
