A wonderful free-kick by Gareth Bale and Hal Robson-Kanu’s late shot was all Wales needed to start their Euro 2016 campaign on a high note. This was the first European Championship for the Dragons and they showed some promise in their game, and hunger to proceed to the knockout stage of the competition.
Wales now sit at the top of Group B in Euro 2016 as England prepare to face Russia later on today. However, the debutants could be toppled from the top if either Russia or England win by more than two goals without conceding.
As a result of the outstanding performance, football fans on Twitter heaped praise on Chris Coleman’s men, who were widely considered as one of the underdogs of the tournament. We have compiled some of the best reactions.
Absolutely brilliant result by @FAWales @EurosUEFA , played with such true passion. Now come on #Russia

As much as i want Engerlund to get beat, i've bet Wales to finish top of the group, so a draw would be nice :)

Well done Wales. Wasn't watching but I knew they'd won from the roar of joy my neighbour let out. Hope to hear a similar roar for Iceland.

Well done Wales... Now if we could get your fans to shape up you could have a proper UK football team international career...

I have a severe dislike for football, but there's something itching inside telling me I need to be supporting Wales xD
