The Juventus star is known to be one of the most influential midfielders in football today, as he will be France's frontman for UEFA Euro 2016. Regardless of his significant role in the national team, Deschamps demands to take pressure off of the French midfielder.
Speaking to the general press conference after Thursday's training ahead of the anticipated Euro 2016 tournament, Deschamps addressed the recent transfer rumor involving the Blues player to sign with English side Manchester United.
"From what I see of Paul, he's focused on what's coming up with his country.
"The transfer rumours have had no impact on his spirit and attitude. Even if he's young, Paul is used to dealing with these situations."
In addition, the 47-year-old manager was direct to let the public clearly know Pogba's mission as a footballer, which is to be effective, not entertain.
"People expect too much of him because he has above-average technique.
"He's not there to make the crowd rise every time he touches the ball. I've told him that sometimes he needs to play in a neutral way. He's a midfielder, not a No10."
Pogba has made 43 appearances, scoring nine goals for Les Bleus.
The hosts will face Romania in their opening Euro 2016 game at the Stade de France, in hopes to secure three points for their country.
