The Liverpool boss was present at Argentina’s recent 2-1 win over Chile, sparking transfer speculation.

Copa America Centenario is currently underway in the United States, with the ceremonial competition only in its group stage. Regardless, the summer transfer window is in full swing, with business, deals, and transactions going on nonetheless.

The latest rumors have one South American superstar linked with a move to the English Premier League, as Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain is tipped with a switch from current employers Napoli to Merseyside giants Liverpool.

This speculation was further fueled after Reds boss Jurgen Klopp was pictured at the Levi Stadium for La Albiceleste’s opening match clash with Chile on Monday, with the German boss having met the brother and agent of Gonzalo: Nicolas Higuain.

It remains unconfirmed whether Klopp’s run-in with Higuain’s brother was mere coincidence, a move to open talks over a transfer, or a move to finalize an Anfield switch. Nonetheless, pictures of the former BVB boss leaving the ground shortly after Higuain was substituted prove that the German was there to scout the Napoli striker.

Having scored 36 goals in the Serie A last season, a report by beIN (as per Football Italia) claim that the Argentine forward will complete a move to Liverpool “very soon”, but the matter of the 28-year-old’s €94m release clause is yet to be cleared.
