The Spanish striker appears destined to leave Serie A, but Real Madrid could complicate matters.

Juventus striker Alvaro Morata, currently with the Spanish national team preparing for the defense of their Euro title, appears to be on the brink of an English Premier League switch, should Real Madrid choose not to complicate matters.

The former Blancos striker left the Bernabeu in favor of the Bianconeri in 2014, but the Liga BBVA giants boast the option to buy back the 23-year-old back. With a £23m buy-back clause, Real Madrid look to resign Morata and sell him for a profit.

This could jeopardize his route to the English Premier League, with The Telegraph writing on Monday that Chelsea have opened talks with The Old Lady over signing the Spaniard.

Scoring 27 goals over a two-season spell at Turin, Morata is now ready for a fresh challenge and the prospect of working with incoming Blues boss Antonio Conte. The man who played a pivotal role in luring Alvaro from Real Madrid shortly before leaving Juventus will touch down at Stamford Bridge after guiding Italy to Euro 2016.

With London rivals Arsenal – another Premier League side reportedly chasing after the Juve ace – having turned their attention to Leicester City ace Jamie Vardy, Chelsea are now front-runners to land the Spaniard.

However, the report by The Telegraph claims that Les Merengues value the Spaniard £40m, as it remains to be seen whether the London giants will be willing to pay such a huge fee for Morata.

In addition, the report claims that he is not the only striker being chased by Chelsea, as former Blues reject Romelu Lukaku is being lined up by Conte as an ideal target to help rejuvenate the fallen Premier League giants.

There is the possibility of Roman Abramovich signing both strikers, as Chelsea could see the departure of on-loan forward Pato, Loic Remy, and Diego Costa this summer.
