The much-anticipated Copa America Group D tie between Argentina and Chile is finally here. We take a look at what to expect in this fixture, including where and when to watch the match live.

Argentina will approach this fixture as one of the favorites to win it after going for 23 years without a major international trophy. The Argentines know very well that this tournament presents the best chance for their current crop of players to win a major tournament and pave way for the upcoming generation.

Age is catching up with many players in Gerardo Martino’s squad and good examples include Ezequiel Lavezzi and Javier Mascherano who are 31,  and Gonzalo Higuain, Lionel Messi and Sergio Aguero, who are 28 years old each. By the time they will be playing in the next Copa America, they will be approximately three years older, hence, their performance could deteriorate to an extent of missing a possible call-up.

Lionel Messi will most-likely miss this clash due to a back injury. It is highly unlikely that the Barcelona star will be in the right mind frame to feature in his country’s opening match due to the injury and recent court battles he has been fighting due to tax evasion claims.

Chile, on the other hand, come into this fixture as the defending Champions. This will be  repeat of last year’s Copa America final when the La Roja won on post-match penalties, hence prolonging La Albiceleste's wait for a major international trophy.
