After failing to get out of the group stage at Euro 2012 and at the World Cup in 2014, Croatia will be hoping to have a much better showing at this summer's Euro tournament. Now under the guidance of new coach Ante Čačić, the Vatreni have been on a pretty good run of form as of late. Their last loss took place on September 6th, when they were defeated by Norway, and since then, they have won four out of their last five friendlies.
Croatia will be now welcoming minnows San Marino in their final warm-up match before the big event in France. Although they beat another minnow - Moldova - last week, Čačić will be demanding a better performance from his men this weekend. In that match, the team were missing quite a few faces, with key players like Luka Modrić, Mario Mandžukić, Ivan Rakitić, Mateo Kovačić and captain Darijo Srna, but nonetheless many had hoped to see more than a 1-0 result.
With some of these key players set to return this weekend for Saturday's match, Čačić will have a better chance to feature some of the personnel he will be using during their group stage campaign next week. As for San Marino, the tiny nation have only won one match in their entire history - and that was back in April 2004, when they beat fellow minnow Liechtenstein 1-0.
