After being linked to the Reds since Jürgen Klopp's appointment as coach, former Borussia Dortmund midfielder Mario Götze dismissed all transfer rumors about him.

If Liverpool fans wanted to witness the reunion of Jürgen Klopp and Mario Götze, they will have to wait for a while to see that at Anfield Road.

The talented German midfielder was the center of many rumors due to his "cold" relationship with Pep Guardiola at Bayern Munich. However, with the Spanish boss leaving, the former Borussia Dortmund man pledged loyalty to Die Roten, in a statement revealed by Bild.

"I look forward to the new season in Munich and will do everything possible to compete in top shape during my first training session under Carlo Ancelotti," Götze stated.

Guardiola was heavily criticized by German media outlets for reducing Götze's playing time to a minimum.

The 23-year old ace played 79 games under Guardiola, but his performance was reduced to a supporting role, with most of his minutes coming as a sub. During the recently concluded season, Götze scored just six goals, his worst tally since joining Bayern.

Götze's decision to stay at Allianz Arena might come as a surprise to many, given that even his coach with the German National Team, Joachim Löw, suggested the player should consider a transfer by the end of the season.
