Here is everything you need to know about Iceland ahead of their much-anticipated 2016 UEFA European Championship participation.

Iceland's UEFA Euro history

Lagerbäck and Hallgrímsson's lads will make history by appearing for the first time ever in the European Championship. The current senior team is constructed on the foundations of recent success at the U21 level. The Nordic island side displayed good performances throughout the qualifying stage, finishing second on the table with 20 points. That's quite a stunning achievement for these underdogs who were drawn with Czech Republic, Turkey, Netherlands, Kazakhstan, and Latvia in the 2016 UEFA Euro Qualifiers.

Recent Form

Of the five international matches played in 2015, Iceland has bagged three victories and suffered two losses. This year the blue and white men have appeared in five games with their most recent victory beating Greece 3-2. They are 35th in the world according to the May 2016 FIFA Ranking.
