This week has been incredible for both Inter Milan and Wayne Rooney’s Man Utd. But Barcelona and Lionel Messi are not ready to dance on the music of shocks, surprises, or U-turns.
Barca’s enviable strength seems to be in a decline: their 1-1 draw away to Rubin Kazan a few weeks ago and their third position in La Liga standings seem to reveal so. Besides the idea that Pep Guardiola’s Catalans are becoming a one-man team around Lionel Messi has started to spread itself among football fans.

Barcelona – who recently grabbed a victory in the Champions League thanks to a Leo brace – will face Real Zaragoza in a vital match on Saturday. Coach Pep Guardiola is not willing to encounter anything less than a victory at La Romareda as Barcelona’s season is yet to be comfortable.

Claims that Inter Milan’s Massimo Moratti has put Lionel Messi on his transfer wish list could have an impact on the Blaugrana’s focus and Guardiola has been quick to laugh them off. He told Sky Italia:

“Moratti is very kind. I believe he was joking, but it makes me happy. Anyways, it was not a complete joke. The truth with jokes is that you never know how they are going to end.

“If [Massimo] Moratti gives us €250M and Lionel Messi wants to leave, then maybe we can talk [an agreement].

“But I think I understand that Messi doesn’t want to leave [the club], and a player’s opinion is decisive in football. The last word is always up to him.”

Lionel Messi also took Massimo Moratti’s reported interest in him for a joke as he reteirated his desire to remain at the Camp Nou by saying:

“I guess he clarified that he [Moratti] was only joking. This is my home. I hope to stay here in Spain forever.”

Lionel Messi will have to help Barcelona against Real Zaragoza on Saturday. The Argentine ace has been behind most of the Blaugrana’s victories so far this season, and Coach Guardiola thinks it’s not time for transfer speculations to ruin Barcelona’s fortress.
