The homegrown striker returned to his boyhood club last season on loan from AC Milan, and he has proven to be quite useful during the past few games.

During the last 18 games, Fernando Torres has shown glimpses of his old form with Atlético Madrid, and that fact wasn't overlooked by the team's execs, which have agreed to offer the Spanish striker a contract extension.

Reports from Spain suggest that the 32-year old Torres, who ends his current contract with Milan this summer,is still deciding on what's best for his last years as a pro, considering he has a number of offers from the MLS, the Chinese Super League and even Mexico.

Spanish newspaper As revealed that the footballer, who is expected to play for Atlético in the UEFA Champions Legue final later this month, wants to sort out his future before that game is played.

Torres' future was put on hold by coach Diego Simeone earlier this year, when the Argentine coach suggested the player was set to leave his boyhood club. Nevertheless, his recent form may have changed the coach's mind, urging his employers to offer the player a new deal.
