The English midfielder returned to action with the Californian team and sealed their 300th ever win in the MLS. The Galaxy won their fifth game in a row vs New England.

Maybe he's about to become 36 years old by the end of the month, maybe he is picking up more injuries than he used to, but one thing that's never lost with time is class, and Steven Gerrard showed that for Los Angeles Galaxy.

After taking Robbie Keanes' place in the lineup, Gerrard struggled in midfield, since New England took control of all the action and eventually scored a couple goals that tightened the score. But when the game was coming to a close, Gerrard took a loose ball, dribbled past a defender, nutmegged another one, and finished his skillful play with a smooth touch into the back of the net.

The Galaxy is now second in the Western Conference standings, two points behind Colorado Rapids. Their next game will come on Wednesday, when they visit Philadelphia Union.
