Given that both Riyad Mahrez and N’Golo Kante put in a stellar season to help Leicester City go from relegation favorites to English Premier League champions, it comes as no surprise that the Foxes duo are on the wish list of several major European clubs.
One of those teams reportedly after the Algerian and Frenchman is Arsenal, with France Football claiming (as per The Express) that the Gunners have already made an inquiry into the availability of the midfield aces.
Claudio Ranieri’s crew appear resound to lose Kante, with the 25-year-old boasting a modest release clause worth £20m embedded in his contract at the King Power Stadium, a figure which the Gunners won’t struggle to meet.
However, the Premier League champions value this season’s PFA Player of the Year winner at a staggering £40m, as Leicester look to hold onto the former Le Havre star, meaning a double swoop could cost the north London giants £60m.
This transfer rumor comes after Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri and vice-chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha publicly crushed rumors that Mahrez is seeking a move to a bigger club, claiming that the Algerian is eager to remain with the Foxes.
Acquiring Mahrez and Kante would severely boost Arsenal’s chance of delivering a first Premier League medal since 2004 to the fans, as the “Wenger Out” group continues to grow.
However, Le Prof’s side are not the only side after Mahrez, as the report names Manchester United, Liverpool, Barcelona and Real Madrid as other interested parties.
