Pellegrini says four of his key men are set to miss the weekend clash with Arsenal.

Manchester City will face rivals Arsenal without four of their key players on Sunday. The much-anticipated game will be more of a do-or-die battle for Pellegrini’s men than an ordinary fixture. The Citizens need nothing less than a win to keep their hopes of qualifying for next season’s Champions League alive. On the other hand, the Gunners are hoping for a win in their remaining fixtures in a bid to finish above their North London rivals Spurs.

The four key players to miss the Sunday clash are; Vincent Kompany, Pablo Zabaletta, David Silva and Aleksandar Kolarov.

Silva has been ruled out for the rest of the season due to a hamstring injury suffered during the first-leg clash with Real Madrid in the Champions League semis last week. Speaking to the club’s official website, coach Manuel Pellegrini said:Silva substituted due to injury

“For the moment, we need to process a couple of players tomorrow but Pablo, Vincent, David Silva and Aleksandar Kolarov are all out.

“We don’t have the medical examination on Vincent - he’s with the doctor. On Monday we will know.

“For Vincent it’s an issue for the future - we must talk with the doctor, with the player, with the people who will be in charge of City next year. It’s a medical issue.

“Every time he was in the XI he was fit to play, 100%. You can be sure of that.”

If City beat Arsenal on Sunday, they will climb to the third position on the log thanks to their superior goal difference. But if that happens, Arsenal will risk losing the fourth place to Man United, who have three games in hand.
