Pep Guardiola wants Arsenal captain to join the coaching staff at Man City.

Incoming Man City manager Pep Guardiola has offered Arsenal Captain Mikel Arteta a chance to join his coaching staff at the Etihad Stadium this summer, as reported by the Daily Mail.

The Spaniard, who is expected to retire from football at the end of the season, joined the Gunners back in 2011 from Everton. At the age of 34, his future on the pitch looks bleak thanks to the numerous injury problems that have hindered his performance for the North London club over the past few seasons. However, Pep believes that his countryman has more to offer on the sidelines, and that the City job could be his turning point.

To prove his recent troubles for Wenger’s side, Arteta has made only eight appearances in the league this season, one more than he managed last season.

The English publication now reports that both Pep and the Arsenal captain met in Munich last year to discuss the possibilities of joining the coaching staff at City once Manuel Pellegrini’s term comes to an end. The online publication further adds that Arteta has been searching for a house in the north western side of England where he intends to relocate with his family, a good reason to believe that he could be moving closer to the Man City job this summer.
