Brazil legend Ronaldo has heaped praises on Man United youngster Marcus Rashford. The legendary footballer, who is also Brazil’s second highest goal scorer with 62 goals behind Pele who scored 77 in his international outings with the Samba Boys, was speaking during an interview with The Sun. He said:
“He’s a very good young player,
“I see some of myself in him for sure — he has courage and he’s fast and is very good with the ball.
“I think for the strikers they have to be hungry to score and I see that with him. He has an amazing future.’’
Rashford made his debut for The Red Devils in February against Danish side Midtjylland in their Europa League fixture, and scored two goals in the match. Since then, he has established himself in the first team, having scored seven goals in 15 appearances for the senior team in all competitions, and provided one assist.
Along the way, he has also broken several records at just 18 years of age. He became the youngest scorer in a Manchester derby on March 20 when he opened the scoring against city rivals Manchester City. Due to his superb form, the product of the Man Utd academy is expected to steer his side to a top-four finish this season with three matches to go, and the journey begins with a trip to Carrow Road to face Norwich City. He was recently named the Manchester United u-18s Player of the Year.
