If Argentinean fans want to see Messi performing at his best, then they will certainly hope his problems away from the pitch end soon.
According to Messi's coach with the Argentinean National Team, Gerardo Martino, the player's problems with th Spanish revenue service really influence his performance on the pitch, hinting that he may not be at his best when the upcoming Copa América Centenario begins next June.
"Messi is not someone who can forget about his personal issues when he steps into the pitch. It's something that gets to his mind. His problems off the pitch are always there, even if you see him scoring every week, and that sort of thing has an effect on how he plays with us," Martino stated.
Messi is scheduled to appear in front of court on June 2, days before the continental tournament begins. While ruling out the possibility of playing the competition without his best player, Martino looked back to last year and eased those who thought Messi wouldn't deliver for La Albiceleste next summer.
"He was dealing with such problems the last time he came here, and his performance was really, really good. The only thing we hope is that he can do the same thing for us this time, even with him returning to Spain to appear in court," the coach added.
"La Pulga" will try to become La Albiceleste's all-time top scorer this summer.
Finally, Martino referred to how influential the end of the season can be for Messi when he joins Argentina. The former Barcelona coach believes that ending La Liga and the Copa del Rey with silverware can really make a difference for the Argentinean to perform.
"Even if they were eliminated from the UEFA Champions League, they still have two trophies to fight for. This will not only have an influence in Messi's performance, but on all of the players trying to help him win. They need to focus on those remaining games and we'll see how things go from there," Martino concluded.
