The much-anticipated clash between Premier League title contenders Leicester City and Champions League spot contenders Man United is finally here.

This could be the biggest match in the 132-year history of Leicester City. A win for the Foxes will give them their first ever Premier League title, something that they have worked for so hard this season. Claudio Ranieri’s men started the season on a high and only one match separates them from the prospects of making history. After 35 matches played, the King Power Stadium outfit has won 22, lost 3, and drawn 10.

They are currently at the top of the league table with 76 points, 7 behind second placed Tottenham Hotspur. A win at Old Trafford will take Leicester 10 points clear at the top of the league table, and with only three matches remaining for Spurs, the highest number of points they can gather is 9 at this juncture. However, if they lose or draw, the title celebration could be pushed a week ahead depending on the results at the Stamford Bridge when Chelsea host Mauricio Pochettino’s men on Monday.

Interestingly, a draw could even work for Claudio Ranieri’s men on Sunday, but only if Chelsea beat Spurs on Monday. However, a draw on Monday will push the title race to the next weekend when the league leaders welcome Everton at the King Power Stadium.

The high-flying Foxes come into this game without their key striker Jamie Vardy who was suspended for two games by the FA due to improper conduct. As a result, all eyes will be on Vardy’s replacement Leonardo Ulloa who scored a brace in their 4-0 win over Swansea last weekend. PFA Player of the Year, Riyad Mahrez, is also expected to lead the attack for Ranieri’s side and continue with his impressive form that has seen him score 17 goals and provide 11 assists in 34 league appearances this season.

The closest Leicester came to winning the league title was back in 1929 when they finished at second-place and missed out by a single point. This season, they have already proven to their fans that everything is possible, having being relegated three times in their previous nine seasons and failed to finish higher than eighth during that period.

On the other hand, the Red Devils are in dire need for a win in this fixture in order to increase their chance of securing a Champions League spot for next season. Hence, fans should expect a thrilling encounter at Old Trafford on Sunday.
