Despite making it through to the FA Cup final, Manchester United’s season has been nothing short of disappointing, with plans to rebuild the fallen Premier League giants already underway.
As written by a report earlier this month by British tabloid The Sun, polarizing Portuguese boss Jose Mourinho will land at Old Trafford in time for next season, with the Special One having already sanctioned three transfers for the Red Devils.
One of those three names was Renato Sanches – the other two being PSG’s Zlatan IBrahimovic and Everton John Stones – with fresh reports coming out of the player’s home country claiming that the 20-time Premier League champions will acquire the highly-rated youngster’s services.
This is as tweeted by Sky Sports News reporter Kaveh Solhekol, who cites the Portuguese media as the source of this latest transfer news that Man United have won the race for the £40m-rated 18-year-old who plies his trade at Benfica.
Strangely enough, there is a connection between Sanches and the man rumored to be replacing Louis Van Gaal once the season ends, as pointed out by Solhekol. The Eagles starlet and Mourinho share a representative in the form super agent Jorge Mendes.
Reports all over Portuguese media: #MUFC to sign Benfica midfielder Renato Sanches for £40m. Has same agent as Jose Mourinho (Jorge Mendes)

Could Mendes have brokered the move for Sanches knowing that his other client (Jose) is set to move to the Theatre of Dreams?
