Bayer Leverkusen was two goals behind after the first half, but three goals in a seven-minute stretch gave Die Werkself a huge win against Schalke.

Roger Schmidt was right: "Chicharito" is one of a kind.

On Friday afternoon, Bayer Leverkusen's coach praised the Mexican striker's skills and influence in the team's performance this season. Today, "Chicharito" scored the game-winning goal for The Aspirins, giving them some room to breathe in their quest to secure a spot in the UEFA Champions League next season.

Schalke took the lead with a couple of first half goals, courtesy of Eric Choupo-Moting and Leroy Sane. But after the break, Julian Brandt, Karim Bellarabi and Hernández scored to give the red-and-black side three crucial points.

With his goal today, Hernández has sent the ball into the back of the net 26 times, increasing his tally in what has been his best season as a professional. This was his 17th goal in the German top flight, keeping him close to the Bundesliga's top three scorers.

Here's how fans reacted to the Mexican striker's performance.
