With Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Die Roten keen on signing him, Hummels must decided about his future in the following days so Dortmund can cash in on his departure.

Mats Hummels kick-started the rumor mill with a heart-felt message after Borussia Dortmund's semi-final win in the DFB Pokal. The German defender, who has been linked to a move away from the yellow-and-black side for a couple of years, revealed he's losing sleep about a potential transfer decision, one that could involve a shocking return to Bayern Munich.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Hummels spoke about his future, hinting a possible move away from the team that saw him win two Bundesliga titles and two German Super Cups while reaching the 2012-2013 UEFA Champions League final.

"I've set myself a date by which I have to decide. It's a very difficult decision for me. I'm losing about half an hour's sleep every night just thinking about it. When I finally make my decision, people will see why it has been so difficult," Hummels stated in the interview.

Hummels is one of Dortmund's most beloved figures. During last year's awful start of the year, Hummels calmed down some of the team's supporters who were upset with the team's performances.

With his contract set to expire in 2017, Borussia Dortmund would have to sell the player in the upcoming transfer window in order to profit from his departure. Hummels' exit could be followed by Ilkay Gundogan's departure, as the midfielder has also been hinted to be moving out of the German side to join Manchester City.

But if Hummels started all rumors by speaking about his future, his father boosted them a bit more. Hermann Hummels, who's also his son's agent, revealed to SportBild that his son would only consider moving to a handful of clubs, and one of those would be making a comeback to Bayern Munich, his team while playing in youth leagues.

"This is one of the biggest decisions of Mats' career. If he does leave, it will only be for one of the top five or six clubs in Europe. Bayern are obviously one of those," Hummels Sr stated.

Hermann Hummels used to work as a youth coach for Bayern, but he was sacked by the club a couple of years after his son chose to play for Dortmund in 2008. Hummels transfer could mean good business for the yellow-and-black crew, considering his 30 million-pound buyout clause.
