The Argentinean became the first South American player in the history of the English top flight to score 100 goals, but his header against Newcastle should not have counted.

Argentinean striker Sergio "Kun" Agüero scored a ground-breaking 100th goal while playing in the English Premier League, but the player's efforts should've been cancelled, given that his header was preceeeded by an offside position.

The Sky Blues' striker scored the go ahead goal for Pellegrini's crew, putting to good use a free kick by Aleksandr Kolarov against Newcastle. But his 14th-minute goal should have been disallowed by referee Kevin Friend, since the player was offside when Kolarov touched the ball.

Agüero became the first South American striker to reach the 100th-goal mark, accomplishing that feat in 147 games. That number makes him the second fastest player ever to reach the milestone, trailing only Alan Shearer, who scored his 100th goal in 124 games.

To make matters worse for the opposition, Agüero punished Newcastle for the 11th time since joining the Citizens. "El Kun" has scored more goals against the Magpies than any other team in the English top flight.

Fans and experts praised Aguero for his accomplishment, but they also criticized the game's ref for letting that goal go up. Here are some of their comments below.

"Keep an eye on Kun Agüero. He's scored four goals since the game against Real Madrid was announced. Madrid's defense will have to be really tuned in."
